Jewish Values 4

What makes “Ahavat Yisroel” (Love for Israel) a quintessentially Jewish value? This lecture explores the ideas of how we can love our fellow as we love ourselves, whether that’s expressed with action or emotion, and how we can love ourselves. Looking at scriptural text, and writings of sages through history, including Rashi, the Sfat Emet, and the luminaries of Lubavitcher Chassidism, Rabbi Bukiet illuminates how to find within ourselves love for both ourselves and others.

  • RE: Handout Toughts

    1. If the material quoted is covered under fair use, and the rabbi can prove it, it is ok with us.
    2. If the material quoted is not covered under fair use, the rabbi must obtain permission to use it.
    3. If the material quoted is permitted, and the rabbi wants to have a link to the book, that link must be made internally within TeachersTrading.com to a book that is sold via TeachersTrading.com. In that case, the rabbi will have to convince the publisher to sell that book via TeachersTrading.com.
    4. If the material quoted is permitted, the rabbi may also use the book as a reference without a link.

  • Handout thoughts

Since it’s excerpts, it might be covered under fair use. The Hebrew itself is mostly public domain, but I wonder if it would be possible to get an agreement from the publishers to use the excerpts with links to where the books can be purchased.

  • Would love to see the handouts

I’m enjoying the class, but I’d love to get a copy of this handout. Is it possible to attach PDF copies to the lectures? I can scan the first three, if that would be any help, but I missed the fourth class.

    • The reason we do not provide the handouts is because of possible copyright issues. We welcome any suggestion of how to do it legally.
